I bought myself a reminder on why #DRM, and especially #Denuvo, should be avoided at all costs for being actively anti-consumer.

Like I know this, I already avoid being locked with music, ebooks, and software. I wanted to make an exception, but #enshittification caught up to me.

Fuck DRM.

I bought #MonsterHunterWilds to play on #linux today.

The #gamingonlinux support is not quite there yet and the game crashes ~every hour. Not great, but not terrible.

Unfortunately for me, after my 5th crash and reboot, I'm greeted with an error: the game uses #Denuvo #DRM, which limits me to 5 installations on a new computer every 24 hour period.

Looks like the Denuvo DRM considers every run of my game as a separate installation, so I LITERALLY can't use the game I bought today anymore.
